Marketing the Largest International Arts Festival

Cooperative Education

The summer between my freshman and sophomore years in LeBow, I was selected to travel to Scotland as the marketing manager for an American theater company touring the United Kingdom and Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the largest arts festival in the world. With the support of a Drexel professor, I worked directly with the theater company managers of Central Standard Theater to develop and implement a guerrilla marketing and interactive social media plan that distinguished the company from 3,000+ other shows performing at the festival.

Having the opportunity to participate in this program so early in my Drexel career helped me focus my interests, begin building an international professional network, and develop career goals.

I had the opportunity to help coordinate logistics for Assembly Venues, one of the largest performance arenas at the festival, and conduct market research to determine future marketing efforts for both the venue and the company. Aside from being a fantastic experience and incredible experiential learning opportunity, having the opportunity to participate in this program so early in my Drexel career helped me focus my interests, begin building an international professional network, and develop career goals.
