I remember having all of my college acceptance letters arranged neatly on my desk and feeling completely overwhelmed! Each school had something unique to offer, but Drexel had several distinguishing qualities that ultimately led to my decision to attend. I loved that my program, Hospitality Management, was small, but that I could still be a part of a large university. The biggest draw for Drexel was the location. I had only visited Philadelphia briefly, but that was enough for me to catch a glimpse of all it had to share. During my time at Drexel University, I have fallen in love with Philly. It’s impossible for me to get bored when I am only a short walk or SEPTA ride away from anything that I can imagine.
Not only has Drexel become my new home, but the city of Philadelphia has welcomed me with open arms
Weekends consist of outings to the zoo or trying out new restaurants, walks to the art museum on nice days and trips to the bowling alley when the weather decides not to cooperate. Classes take advantage of all this city has to offer through frequent field trips, giving students a chance for networking! Job opportunities are always popping up and business are often wanting, sometimes specifically requesting, to work with Drexel students. For your inner foodie, Philadelphia is perfect! Get lost in Reading Terminal Market or venture out to find the best cheesesteak. Not only has Drexel become my new home, but the city of Philadelphia has welcomed me with open arms! It’s not every day that you fall in love with both your university and its city.
